Outdoor Pest Control
Enjoying the fresh air should be relaxing and worry-free, but having an infestation of pests can have the opposite effect. When trying to keep your outdoor living spaces pest-free, there are several preventative measures that you can take.
- Avoid putting trash receptacles near areas you plan on spending your time. If you do keep trash receptacles outside, be sure to empty and clean them often. Flies and other pests are attracted to garbage, so another idea would be to keep a lid or cover on any trash bin.
- Keep outdoor spaces meticulously clean. Be sure the ground and table tops are clear of food particles. Any spills should be cleaned right away, while also keeping cracks and crevices free of crumbs.
- Look out for any standing water – mosquitos are attracted to moisture. Keep gutters and downspouts clean while also emptying water from flower pot drain pans. Fountains, ponds, and other water features must be properly maintained.
- Any grass surrounding the home should be maintained and mowed regularly. You’ll want to keep tree branches and shrubs trimmed away from the house.
